  • Submit visa application (FBI background check — how to apostille it, financials, etc.)

  • Book first 30–60 days of short-term rental
  • Complete pet health certificates if applicable
  • Sell or store anything not going with you

1 month before

Final prep

  • Notify bank, credit cards, IRS, brokerage of move
  • Translate all documents with a sworn translator
  • Obtain 90-day supply of prescriptions
  • File change of address with USPS
  • Confirm flights and pet travel arrangements
